Shimpo Air Gauge Sensors
Shimpo Air Gauge Sensors include the following:
- Master Plug Gauge: The master gauge used in measurement comparison is not only heat treated, but also sub-zero treated to make exceptionally precise and high quality parts. These are used to calibrate the probe sensors maximum and minimum points of the range. The plug style masters are used to calibrate OD type through hole sensor probes.
- Master Ring Gauge: The master gauge used in measurement comparison is not only heat treated, but also sub-zero treated to make exceptionally precise and high quality parts. These are used to calibrate the probe sensors maximum and minimum points of the range. The ring style masters are used to calibrate ID type through hole sensor probes.
- PA Inside Diameter Air Probe: Mainly used for through hole measurements, the PA is a non-contact style sensor which shoots air through its orifices against a work object. The nozzle is at 8 to 20 mm from the tip of the probe.
- PB Inside Diameter Air Probe: Mainly used for through hole measurements, the PB is a non-contact style sensor which shoots air through its orifices against a work object. The nozzle is at 3 to 4 mm from the tip of the probe.
- PC Inside Diameter Air Probe: Mainly used for through hole measurements, the PC is a non-contact style sensor which shoots air through its orifices against a work object. The nozzle is at 2 mm from the tip of the probe. It is capable of making deeper measurements than the conventional PB type sensor probes.
- PKA Inside Diameter Air Probe: The PKA style air probe sensor is specifically designed for use on objects with rough surface measurements. Typical non-contact air gauge micrometers will sense every imperfection in a rough surface, providing inaccurate readings of the actual ID to be measured. The PKA with its spring-loaded, floating style contact point will act as an air regulator corresponding to the rough grooves and negate the valleys that would normally be sensed. If the roughness of the object is greater than 6S (Ry 6.3S) the PKA style is the ideal solution provided the peaks and valleys are less than 4mm (0.157”) wide. The carbide spring-loaded floating point is located at the middle of the measuring head.
- PKB Inside Diameter Air Probe: The PKB style air probe sensor is specifically designed for use on objects with rough surface measurements. Typical non-contact air gauge micrometers will sense every imperfection in a rough surface, providing inaccurate readings of the actual ID to be measured. The PKB with its spring-loaded, floating style contact point will act as an air regulator corresponding to the rough grooves and negate the valleys that would normally be sensed. If the roughness of the object is greater than 6S (Ry 6.3S) the PKB style is the ideal solution provided the peaks and valleys are less than 4mm (0.157”) wide. The carbide spring-loaded floating point is located at the tip of the measurement head.
- PO, POT Outside Diameter Air Probe: The PO type probes allow the work object to be put between its sensors for a quick and fast OD check of the part. The POT type is similar with solid carbide material applied to the V-Shaped sensing surface that allows for prolonged life.
- POK Outside Diameter Air Probe: The POK style air probe sensor is specifically designed for use on objects with rough surface measurements. Typical non-contact air gauge micrometers will sense every imperfection in a rough surface, providing inaccurate readings of the actual OD to be measured. The POK with its spring-loaded, floating style contact point will act as an air regulator corresponding to the rough grooves and negate the valleys that would normally be sensed. If the roughness of the object is greater than 6S (Ry 6.3S) the POK style is the ideal solution provided the peaks and valleys are less than 5 mm (0.196”) wide. The carbide spring-loaded floating point is located at the tip of the measurement head. Outside Head for Air Gauge Sensor Probe
