Metrology Calibration Lab Manager – Houston

NSM is seeking a qualified candidate to execute the duties as the Metrology Calibration Lab Manager overseeing our Houston region commercial metrology operations. Responsibilities include supervision of employees, departmental P&L goals/expansion, company policy compliance and adherence to ISO/IEC 17025:2017. The Lab Manager must ensure timely completion of work while meeting quality requirements and work to increase the through-put of the department. Additional responsibilities include providing quotes to prospective customers and identifing expansion of service opportunities. In conjunction with the Management Team, the Lab Manager will establish revenue goals, cost saving plans and asset requirements for the department.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide leadership and direction for departmental staff
  • Monitor Departmental Performance (Revenue, Production, Costs)
  • Provide sales support (Site visits, sales team support)
  • Provide customer support
  • Monitor and maintain department standards and assets
  • Monitor and manage outsourced equipment
  • Assist in Calibration types of laboratory devices
  • Maintain EasyCal calibration agreements
  • Oversee recall program to assure customer is notified of past due equipment
  • Adhere to all company ISO compliant quality policies, procedures, and work instructions

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be familiar with QMS requirements, ISO 17025 preferred. PMEL or equivalent training required. Supervisory and strong computer skills as well as essential math skills needed to analyze the uncertainty budgets. 3 years of experience as a test or lab lead/supervisor is desired. Must possess leadership skills to inspire your team and to attract new customers. Enjoy an Entrepreneurial mindset that produces financial success of the department.

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to pass Criminal Background check and Drug Testing and maintain a Clean Driving Record. Must have the ability to lift 50 lbs. without restrictions.

COMPENSATION
Salary bonus package: $75,000 plus
